by woot on Jul.28, 2009, under Woot
Cute-blogging isn’t usually my thing, but how could I resist this 5-year-old boy playing guitar and singing “Folsom Prison Blues”? Warning: not recommended for those with low cute tolerance. (Thanks for the link, Dave.)
Woot Contest 230: You Got Some Cosplaynin' To Do
by woot on Jul.27, 2009, under What the Frak

From Slave Leia to Luke Cage, they ran the gamut of geekish obsession, transforming ordinary conventioneers into objects of awe, derision, or lust. We just wish we could’ve helped. Your challenge this week:

12 Ways We're Celebrating The New Harry Potter Movie
by woot on Jul.14, 2009, under Woot
- Looking for the movie novelization
- Trying really hard to remember that redheaded kid’s name
- Filling our hip flasks with home-brewed Butterbeer
- Locking our children in a closet under the stairs and hoping at least one becomes a wizard
- Mentally casting the “Hogwarts: the Next Generation” teen drama on the CW
- Looking forward to the new anti-wizardry tract from Jack Chick Enterprises
- Wondering what Ralph Fiennes looks like with a nose
- Telling our friends to stay through the credits for that scene at Professor X’s grave
- Playing “which kid will overdose first?” during the boring parts
- Campaigning for Matthew Barney to direct the final chapter
- Dumpster-diving the finishing touches for our Bellatrix LeStrange costume
- Working in the gratuitous phrase “Harry Potter meets Google Chrome OS” so we can get cheap re-tweets
